When Ben approached Charles on the dock before he went for his submarine ride, Ben said to Widmore that one of his "sins" was his having a child with an off islander and marriage if I am not wrong, but none the less he said child.

So again, yes, like Jack and and Claire same Dad different Moms.   Makes you kind of wonder here about the lineage and these two men.

But I won't go there here i will go there in the speculation part of the forum ;D

Does anybody else think that Hawking has expressed the same maternal interest in Desmond as she has with Daniel?

What if:

Desmond = Hawking Mother + Unknown Father
Penny = Unknown Mother + Widmore Father
Daniel = Hawking Mother + Widmore Father

Desmond representing faith and belief; Daniel representing order and science. If one son "fails", use the other.

Could the Monk be the Father of Desmond as we see a picture of Him and Ellie there, an instance not yet shared.  Because we know that Widmore gets his wine there, the "chance" meeting of Desmond and Penny and then Des runs into Ellie when he buys the ring.

hmmmm that could be the missing link or connection.  Desmond is not done there.

I hope that is not the case, but I will throw it to the wall it sticks great if not then oh well ;)

But than Desmond grew up without his mother?
Desmond has 3 brothers.
He didn't knew mrs. Hawking when he met her in the ringstore.

I want to know more about Desmond's youth.

Thanks!

I first posted the "Desmond and Daniel are half-brothers theory" back in January:
http://lost.cubit.net/forum/index.php?topic=8458.msg492699#msg492699

I'm thinking that Desmond is the son of Ms. Hawking and ...dunno. And Faraday is the son of Ms. Hawking and Charles. Penny could be the daughter of Charles and yet another female.

Nobody replied back in January.  :'(

Madam P you can mark them -notify - on the top of the thread page/could also be botton but select notify,  you may have to set some stuff up in your profile but you can see the replies.  Especially if the topic is of importance/interest to you.

Mango so believes Juiliette - she is an odd duck why do you need to see them Daniel?

Oh, you guys are just so smart!

Lil, thanks for the info.  I just tried it for the "Adam and Eve" thing so we'll see if it works, and in a year or so if I can come back and gloat it'll be all thanks to you!

Madam P it is my pleasure that is what this is all about to help each other.  We are all in this together, meaning life.  I try to be kind to others, not always achieving my goal, but if it helps you have a better experience here by all means.

I know you would do the same!  I know a year from now will be a much different state of mind regarding the show.

Have a fantastic day and a great week!

Same dad; different moms (presumably).
Well, wouldn't Penny have been all like  "Hey Mom, long time no see.  What are you doing here?"  When Eloise approached her in the hospital?

No, she wouldn't have, because as in the post you just quoted, same dad, different moms.

No what I mean is, Des said "presumably".  When I see the word "presumably" that means for me that there is a slight chance that Eloise is Penny's mom.  I was just saying that I don't think there should be any doubt that Eloise is not Penny's mom.

There is a SLIGHT chance that Eloise is Penny's mom. It is NOT likely, hence why I said that presumably they have different mothers. But until it is absolutely confirmed I will not post as though it is 100% truth. If the writers wanted Eloise to be Penny's mom they could easily do it. Do I think they will? No. Do I think they could? Yes.
