Orientation says that the #'s were started in the hatch computer. Pilot pt.2 says that Danielle's sos has been going for 16yr.5mo. S1E18 says the #'s were heard about 16 yrs. ago and Danielle says she changed that transmission. No connection?

I'm really not sure what the question is here. The transmission of the numbers was originally being broadcast from the tower every 30 seconds. Danielle changed this to the distress signal. While the numbers are input into the computer, we don't have any reason to believe this has anything to do with the transmission. Because the numbers are still being input, but the  transmission has been changed indepedent of the computers input. In addition, the numbers are input every 104 to 108 minutes, yet the transmission occurs every 30 seconds. So, no, I don't see a direct connection between the computer in the swan station and the transmission from the tower by the Black Rock.
