This whole situation looks REALLY bad for the dHARMA folk, and probably leads to their demise. My question is, how could the others NOT know they are digging and building, and digging and building on their sacred land? They are obviously violating "the truce". OR Maybe the others do know about this, maybe there is a traitor on The Others side? Does anyone else get the feeling that DHARMA is getting way too big for their britches? I mean... This is NOT their island, this is The Others island; and the only reason The DHARMA Initiative is living on it, is because The Others let them live on it. thoughts?

the others have to know that the DI is building the swan. maybe they know and dont care. they probably figure that the DI peeps will end up killing themselves in the process. the others probably know about the electromagnetic properties of the area around the swan and they stay away 'cuz it's bad ju-ju to be there. the guy that died got a filling sucked thru his brain, so they're letting the DI alone in hopes that theyll screw up and kill themselves off. or maybe they dont want to start a war with the DI.

What Toadsage said. He posted right when I was writing this. But I agree completely. If the Others "allowed" the building of the Swan and didn't mind it being man-ned after the Purge, it really raises questions as to what their agenda is. It works for me best now to think of the electromagnetic power being centralized there - so it is somewhat unapproachable. Then Jughead gets buried there making it doubly treacherous. The Others would have stayed away from it out of necessity. So that's why Kelvin and Desmond were able to survive there - the Others really didn't know about them and didn't want to know about them. Locke finds Desmond, Desmond turns the failsafe, Widmore finds the island, Ben is removed. That's what I think is going on. Now Ben is returning, Widmore is returning and they're going to duke it out to the bitter end. Don't mind the gigantic holes in my thinking...

Yes! That was business from the late 50's. You got it. That was Others' business too - with Richard as the leader. I told you, my idea was full of Swiss-cheese-like holes.

My memory when it comes to Lost seems to be very swiss-cheese-like. That's why I like to get confirmation that I'm recalling things correctly. So, thanks.

I however still want to see them have to lug around that Jughead. That was the best prop on a show that has had dozens of some of the coolest props ever!

We don't know this for sure, just a theory at the moment. I personally think that carrying the faulty atomic bomb across the island when people are already getting radiation poisoning from it just so they can bury it is kind of a stupid idea, so I don't think it's buried there.

I dont remember any confirmation on Jughead being burried there... sounds too strange to me... DHARMA obviously has equipment to see whats under there. Remember when they saw the wheel behind the wall at the orchid? do you think they would keep digging if they saw something shaped like an atomic bomb? I hope not.

If Jughead is buried there, than I find it strange that the Others "don't care" about the building of the Swan. I mean, would Richard let them dig where they inhumed the bomb, risking nuclear holocaust?

Don't think Jughead is buried in the swan , I think the thick wall of concrete is there because of the Incident

I don't think Jughead is buried in the swan either, but then again, I don't know where it would be buried. I just don't see the logic in burying it there. I don't have any better ideas though.
