It just occured to me this episode, but we've heard of Radzinsky before. He was the partner of Kelvin, Desmond's Hatch-dwelling predecessor. If I remember correctly, we heard of him in this exchange between the two:

Desmond: Who's Radzinsky?
Kelvin (Pointing to blood splatter): That's Radzinsky.

I'm very interested in Radzinsky, and how he ended up in the Hatch. Also, if he knew all about Dharma and the building of the Swan, why did he have a detailed map of the Island and its facilities on the wall?

Also, did Radzinsky know that Dharma was destroyed?

Any ideas or thoughts?

He may have taken refuge in the swan when the whole purge went on. If he shot himself he must have known that there was no other way out. That's why he had to draw what he knew on the blast doors of the hatch so that future button-pressers would know what he knew.

I like this theory. I've wondered what the purpose of the map was. Maybe we will get a clear answer soon.

It's possible Radz was pushing his magical button long before the Purge. Maybe his eventual tomb was his salvation.

Quite possibly, but that just isn't exciting at all, now is it? LOL JK.

Pretty ironic, no? And we know the island can have a very twisted sense of humor. Wink

There's a small amount of people that even know about the Swan...the circle of trust. So it would make sense that Radzinsky would be safe there from the Purge, if the Others didn't know about it. It does look like we'll get to see the Incident that Dr. Chang referred to in the Swan Orientation video. Finally.

5 reasons why I believe Expose is a great episode:

1. Nikki's dancing
2. Billy Dee Williams
3. Razzle Dazzle!
4. Hitchcock-ian murder scene at the breakfast table
5. Twilight Zone ending.

Punishment?  I don't think so.  The Swan appears to have been his "baby" and he's very protective of it.  I'll bet he didn't trust anyone else but himself to run it correctly, and he volunteered to man it.  Not sure why he's a blood spatter.  Maybe his neuroses drove Kelvin to do it.  I know if I was locked in a hatch with that guy, he wouldn't last a week.

Yea, I'm guessing he takes refuge in the Swan... and for whatever reason ends up needing to press that button. I'm also wondering if the QUARANTINE /virus is a fiction made up by him to keep helpers in the station - or do we have a Smokey incident that causes him to theorize a sickness/virus? Danielle obviously thought this as well.

I'm also wondering if the Swan isn't what brings on the Purge? What spurs the Others to decide to wipe out all of DI, when their little 'truce' seems to be holding up?

They apperantly knew something about the "sickness too. Becuase they had those shots they took in the arm. What was that? What was it fighting? How did they find out what they needed to inject themselves with?

Is it just me, or did The Swan look a lil' shallow? It looked as though they already had the concrete down.. I just thought it was about 20ft deeper underground than that...

Do we know that Radzinsky committed suicide or is that something we're told by Kelvin?

.. cause if it were me, and I killed my last button pushing partner, I probably wouldn't tell the new guy that either.

I thought so too...but it was only that far down on one side, because there was a main door that opened to ground level...so maybe they built up a hill around the emergency "quarantine" exit?
