Sorry I did skip over some stuff and tried to read all the way back but could we look at what lies int he shadow of the statue as (who lies) as in not telling the truth?

If someone mentioned this already thank you, just taking a different view

I think it was suggested before Lil. And the answer of course being Ben hehe. He lies everywhere. But what makes me think they are not talking about a person is the fact that they say what lies in the shadow of the statue.

Now, this might seem like I'm a step or thirteen behind, but what is it they said?? What lies, or what lays?? Because if they said lies, then it has to be some sort of word riddle.

It could still be a person... if it is a dead body.  That might be referred to as a "what" rather than a "who."

Q:  "What lies in the shadow of the Statue?"

A:  "The body of Benjamin Linus."

Does anybody have the translation to what Richard replied to Ileana? What language were they speaking?

It was mentioned in another thread. I beleive it was Latin and he said "the one who will save us all"

Well, we can take all the thoughts here and toss them in the rubbish if they didn't add up to just a question!  How many pages did this run? ;)

The answer to the question still is not clear to me.
Is the one who will save us all Jacob?
Jacob lives in the statue itself, not in the shadow of it.

I was thinking of season 2 when Locke and Ben in the hadge were talking about Hemmingway and Dostoevski
and later Ben made Locke really angry by asking him if he was the genious or if he was the one standing in the shadow of
the genious.

Technically, if you live under the statue, you are always in the shadow of it. So (in my opinion) it HAS to be Jacob.
