It could of course be a challenge/response authentication scheme, like in spy films. You know "Meet agent X on the bench at the south west corner of the park. She will be carrying a bunch of yellow flowers. Say 'the starlings are very active for the time of year'. If it's really agent X, she will respond 'but the crows are docile'. Only then should you hand her the microfilm."
So, if you give the right answer to the shadow of the statue question, you're part of the team. If you say "huh?" you get a rifle butt to the noggin.

exactly what I first thought when hearing her ask the question. isn't that what Des' question was like? What did one snowman say to the other? - so it could be that or there could be an answer. wonder if we'll have to wait till the end of season 6 to find that one out.

But... When Bram asked Miles the question, Bram knew that Miles wasn't "on their side". The whole point of abducting Miles appeared to be an odd attempt to recruit him. So, if Bram knew that Miles wasn't already part of their group, why expect him to answer with a specific code-phrase?

There is the possibility that Miles could have been in on it already, and Bram didn't know. We have no idea how big this group is.

He also said to Miles that if he didn't know he was "not ready to go the island". So there could be an actual answer to this question. There could be some sort of secret near the statue. Not necessarily literally IN the shadow cast by the statue. A secret entrance to the temple maybe?
