I have a small theory and that is that smoky judges everyone when he encounters them, he forgave eko and locke, he didnt forgive eko the second time because he wasnt sorry, only when sorry can people be forgiven, dang i want to know more about the pilot.

It was the wrong pilot, it was supposed to be Frank.
That was unforgivable.  :-\

I can't remember, why was Frank NOT the pilot on the flight on 815?

Lostpedia says:
He was the original intended pilot of Oceanic 815 but was replaced by Seth Norris under as yet unknown circumstances.

Hmm. Thanks. Maybe knowing what happened for it to be Seth instead of Frank will help it make sense why Seth encountered Smokey...?

Or maybe, when they planned the show, the monster was just a monster. And this new judge of the guilty thing is something they thought up later on. It's not reasonable for me to believe they haven't changed direction a few times during the course of this show. Sometimes we just gotta roll with it.

Maybe it was just an action scene that gave people a bit of "WOW" during a very random pilot episode so keep interest and intrigue and now they will go through the rigorous task of filling out a few episodes with crap they are making up as they go along... or maybe it was planned... I place my faith once more in TPTB... mug! lol

The monster also killed Nadine, like he killed the pilot. That was season 5.

I always think the replacement of pilot is under some conspiracy, someone doesn't want Frank to be on the plane and has instructed Seth Norris to drive off-course, Seth Norris may be act according to someone's interest and trick Frank away from on board. I would hope a Frank-centric flashback to tell us the truth. =]
