Would I be jumping the gun to give it a 10 over six hours before it airs? *singing Anticipation*

THIS is what we've been waiting for! Definitely a ten! Amazing ending, unpredictable, and definitely a wow episode!

I gave it a 9. While every scene with Locke was great, I didn't like Ben getting off that easy. Smokey should have thrown Ben around more. Alex did choke him, but that seemed a little lame. I'm glad that Ben didn't kill Des or Penny. Maybe the whole point was that he has a heart somewhere. This is one of those episodes that I'll change my feelings about at the end of the season. It might be a 10 after we know more.

Didn't love the ep but I liked the answers. I am getting a little tired of each ep being dedicated to filling in the gaps of one character. I always felt Lost was at its best when it weaved everyones story together in one episode. Now next week will be Miles story and ben/locke will be forgotten. I am not getting any feeling of momentum, just filling in the holes.

Liked Alex(well smokie) getting tough with Ben.

Wow I am surprised people liked it this much. I agree with Jugdish with the episodes being tied to one person, but they are answering a lot of questions. Ben's bad wigs bothered me(I know that is silly but they did). I think my favorite moments were when Desmond tackled Ben and beat him, Locke the entire episode, and when Illana asked Frank about the statue. I wasn't too impressed with the whole Alex story(but at least they answered it). I guess I expected more to come of that. I really hated the end with the smoke. Take the crappy graphics out and leave the smoke and audio and that scene would have been better. I think that they wanted us to feel sorry for Ben and I just didn't. Locke saved this episode for me-he was awesome!
Solid 8.
Can't wait til they are all together again!

I loved the return of Alex. I was thinking we wouldn't see her again, and I'm so glad we got her back for a while.

I gave it a 6.  Maybe that was a result of the high expectations, but I was very disappointed in the episode.  The biggest thing for me was the predictability.  Other than the previews I don't look at spoilers, but I was able to predict almost everything before it happened.

I knew:
- the guy on the horse at the being was Widmore from the second I saw him
- Sun was the one in Ben's house
- Locke (instead of Smokey) was coming through the trees
- Ben would NOT killing Penny, and Desmond was the one who beat him. I was really hoping for Penny to be the one to beat him. But when he shot Desmond, I knew Desmond wasn't dead and was going to save the day.
- The Smoke Monster would NOT kill Ben

I really hated the images in the smoke, it seemed so hokey to me. I thought I was watching the Wizard of Oz.  And all the temple stuff was really underwhelming.

The only thing that kept it from being lower than a 6 was the NEW losties.  I thought it was great when Llana asked Lupidas, "What lies in the shadow of the statue?".  Sounds very Dharma-ish to me... I'm thinking they are children of the Dharma Initiative and not Widmore people...

Also, I did not predict Ben shooting Caesar, which I thought was a good twist.

I used to look just like this. Really!

Many aspects were predictable, yes.
Just a wig to make Ben look younger didn't do it for me.  Why does Danielle look so much younger but not Ben?
Knew it was Sun in the house.
Just "drain the sink" to call Smokey?  wtf?  lame

On the other hand:
Locke's new found self assurance and knowledge was awesome
The temple was pretty cool - built around Smokey to pay him homage.
My Mom wouldn't like to hear me say it, but I loved Ben making Caesar fly
At the same time it appears Ben has a heart - save the kids is his cause
Des and Penny appear to live on - rocks!
Des gives Ben a new face - whoa!
Llana asking coded questions to identify unknown members of her kickass team - pick me!

It answered some questions and filled in some spaces - always welcomed in the Lost world
Set up some serious shi* - hello female mercenary - spank me!
Firmly (I hope) established Locke as the Leader
And we may get some Miles answers next week - cool!

To quote American Bandstand: it had a good beat, I liked the lyrics... I give it a 9!

I'm a substitute for another guy - The Who (or was it Locke?)

What Kate Did?  What DIDN'T she do!  I bring out the best in her.....

Sundown, you better take care.  If I find you've been creeping 'round my back stairs.

Gave this a 9

I should have rated lower as after watching three times, yes three, I just couldn't shake the fact I was was in an Indiana Jones episode!  A lot of folks thought Wizard of Oz with the faces of Alex floating in the cloud of Smokey, but I didn't think we were there.  I was waiting for Jungle Otter to jump out dressed as Indy and tie Ben to the pillar while Smokey added some more bruises.  (JO you know I have a great deal of respect for you and not poking fun at you)

Time lines of characters appeared askew - come on folks - either you remember what you wrote or you don't and the costume/make up folk slap their hands!  It was a contest to either make them look young or like women either way they lost Roll Eyes

What was good was we did see more of the underbelly of the temple and it was nice to see Ben appear to be soiling his tighty whities, but I don't buy him being fearful of anything.

I enjoyed Locke's confidence, to the point attitude, he is enjoying his destiny and his shoes.  My like of Locke drove a higher number because this character is enjoying whatever the island has given him.

Charles - dear Charles what did happen between you and that young boy?

Des and Penny - can't go there yet, there is more to come and not worth speculating, answers will be given.

As for the latest of female characters well, we she does have an agenda and frankly not a good one, we just may now know who was shooting in the boat after our losties.  I think we have a force to be recokened with and like Ana Lucia I hope she is short lived.

All posters before me did a great job and we all were thinking down the same lines!

I gave it a ten.  I'm just not as articulate as the rest of you.  I like Locke when he is confident and wise.  I like to see Ben squirm.  And I like to see any episode that doesn't orbit around Jack/Kate, although the new Jack is better in my opinion than the old Jack.

Any episode that shows Smokey COMING OUT OF HIS LAIR is a ten in my book!
