I thought it was going to be a theres Aaron, he turns around and it's not him moment. I didn't even think about Claire, but yeah I can get onboard with it being future (2029) Claire

I don't think she was taking him to the front to make an announcement. She was taking him out the door until she got stopped. That is why Kate gave him to Claire's mom. Next time they might really get him.

when she picked him up, I totally thought it wasn't him, and that she was going to take him until she got caught.

When I first the woman from behind I thought, wow, is that gonna be Claire? Then she turned around and it was like..."Aaauuughhh.....what the..." because her eyes were so much like Claire's it was kind of eerie. It was like a distortion of Claire. And it really did seem like she was taking him out the door with her.
I believe like several others here that Kate's anxiety of losing Aaron or someone taking him from her has been eating away at her for the last three years. Always that fear chasing her like a ghost. I believe that "Freaky Look-a-Like" Claire was like a visual representation of Kate's longstanding fear, and that was the turning point for her to do the right thing and return Aaron to his grandmother. They made this woman look enough like Claire to push Kate over that edge.
I wonder if Kate is really going to go and try to find Claire...but seeing as she is in the wrong time period, makes that task a bit impossible at the moment...or is it???

I thought that too. The body type didn't really look like Claire to me, and the idea never crossed my mind until someone said it on the chat. Also agree... but it will be Claire's mother's fault then.

For a moment I though they were going to make a "Flightplan" of it. You know, "kid? what kid? you did not have a kid, lady".
On the other hand that Aaron is a very trusting child. Which makes Claire's mum role just a tiny bit easier.

Yeah, I thought it was old Claire. Especially since it played that freaky "lightbulb over the head" sound when it showed her face. Like, ding ding ding, this is a crazy moment!

Bizarro Claire was thrown in there both for us and for Kate. She freaked out and decided to do what was best. BTW: did you guys first think that Aaron physically disappeared? And that Hurley was right? for about a minute I was totally blown away. I thought for sure Ben would die and things will be changed, and they will all gradually disappear. I think it was intentional.

Also agree... but it will be Claire's mother's fault then. you misunderstood me, I though Aaron looked different when she took him from the fake Claire in the supermarket, I though she picked up the wrong kid, and then the real Aaron was gonna come up behind her and she would feel even worse.

In the chat someone said she was a Claire-stand-in but with hooker-makeup. Sounded about right to me.
That was me. LOL. I thought she looked like an older Claire who'd been through a hard life and had bad plastic surgery or something. Like her, but not like her. It's totally creepy, I think. It made me wonder if we're supposed to think that this was Claire after being in Jacob's cabin for who-knows-how-many-years after all the time-skipping and such... According to Lostpedia, it's an actress named Susan King. (...billed as "Sweet Young Woman" which seems weird to me...) I wonder if TPTB knew this episode would air on April 1st? It was a good April Fool's "gotcha," that's for sure. Hyperform, I also thought maybe the kid wouldn't be Aaron. I thought maybe he just disappeared, (like golfstrom said, like "Flightplan") and that's why Kate told Jack the whole "You can never ask me that!" thing, because she was mortified that she let it happen. And that was why she agreed to go baaaaack, because she thought "they" had taken Aaron back and she was going to go get him. But, as usual, I was wrong. (Sounds pretty good, though, doesn't it? )
