I've posted about "aging" before, but here goes again:

Maturation is separate from deterioration.  Think of those kids with the disease Progeria who "die of old age" yet they are developmentally only physically 10 years old.  Their bodies are on the same developmental time clock as far as maturation goes, but their cells have accelerated deterioration compared to normal.

Nothing has ever suggested that people don't mature on the Island.  We've only seen evidence that people don't deteriorate (or that they have perfect cell regeneration -- like the cheerleader on HEROES).  That's more in line with people having their illnesses healed.

Richard is clearly not the same as any of the recruited Others.  He may be the only aboriginal.

Theoretically, the ones who "don't age" ought to be perpetually 21 years old -- i.e., fully developed adults with no deterioration.  I'm not sure that applies to anyone, including Richard.

Consider your bandwagon jumped HM! I totally go for this theory, and have posted elswhere about it. I'm liking the idea that we dont know when Richard is from. He could be a Black Rock Pirate or even Kate and Jack's baby from the future.... lol I'm so hoping I get this one right.

Yeah Im liking this theory, hes from a time in the future so he doesn't age. I like it! Also now I'm thinking that the reason for the problems with giving birth are because the mothers aren't in the right time.  To prevent them giving birth before they are born themselves.(D.O.B Wise), Juliet (On her and Sawyer starting a family) : "It isnt the right time".

I am with LIl that we only know of one person who is not aging. So I think he is just a unique case and overall aging is not an issue on the island. We have to many examples of people getting older. Richard is the exception and that is because of who he is.
