He's got dynamite. And he's blowing up trees.
The first thing that I thought of when he tossed that first stick of dynamite was how another misty inhabitant of the Island enjoys explosively uprooting trees.
Also, Horace was stuck in a tree-chopping loop in Locke's vision. Remember how his nose was bleeding?
So many connections. So much fun!

Maybe in his drunkenness, and still in his attempt to build a little "getaway for him and the mrs." (the cabin), he thought blowing up trees would be a much faster way to get some lumber. Heck, it'd probably make sense to anyone that was intoxicated that much, haha.

I promise , I'm not stalking you MadamP! but again, I thought the same thing. It looked like he was right by the fence. I was all confused because then when I came on here, everyone was like no the fence is far away from there.   |

by the way I re watched and he is by the fence. yup! We were right again. HA!  they clearly stated to Sawyer, that he was by the pylons! |
