has anyone suggested this person as Jacob?

I just had a thought regarding Jacob and his identity.  I thought about the Alvar Hanso stuff back in season 2 and how it seemed important at the time but nothing really came of it.  I'm thinking Jacob will either be somehow tied to Alvar Hanso.  Specifically, I think Jacob is Magnus Hanso.

Not sure, but very plausible.

Am I reading the entry right: the Black Rock was a slave ship? If so, maybe the whispers are from those men and women who died in captivity.

This has been suggested before. Great minds, ya know ;)

I kinda sorta suggested that Magnus is Jacob a while ago, but I didn't really follow the theory anywhere.

Yeah, just a random thought for me since everyone has been speculating who the baby is and it made me think of characters we may have forgotten, and one of those characters you don't hear about anymore is Alvar Hanso and then there's Magnus Hanso who so far is just a footnote.  I don't know how he'd end up as some island spirit and be called Jacob.

So, the whispers are just anyone who has died on the island.

I still don't know if the whispers are meant to be easter eggs or if they're meant to be taken seriously.  Most of the whispers either sounds like they're from dead people or from some hidden observers.  The whisper transcripts are definitely a fascinating read and I hope we get an explanation about them before the series ends.  I don't think we've heard anything new since last year so the whispers have been happening less frequently lately.
