I have just started watching the old episodes of LOST again, because in my opinion, to understand where we are we have to understand where we have been (how LOST of me). And stop me, if you've heard this one.
Anyway, in the episode, which I think is "?" where we see Eko's back story which he is investigating the "miracle" where the girl drowned and during the autopsy, comes back to life. Where it was Richard Malkin's daughter. His daughter's name is Charlotte. Could this really be an oversight by the writers of LOST? They almost never do anything without some sort of reason, right?!?
I just thought it was interesting that they re-used the name Charlotte, for a girl who came back to life and if it is the same person, who has lived on the island, and found her way back there. It's really all just too much to handle.

Charlotte's last name is Lewis. Now sure, she might have gotten married or changed her name, but we've seen a lot of double names. For instance, Tom on the island is not the same Tom that impregnated Claire. Just because two people have the same name doesn't mean they are the same person.
Although it's possible.

There's also a couple of folks named Emily and Charles. The writers have favorite names they like to use or work in. Lapidus was one they were trying to get in for a long time.

just an idea. i'm not sure about emily, not that i don't believe you i just don't remember. but they also use the same name, just not the same version of it. such as charlie pace and charles widmore, tom the other and thomas the father of claire's baby.
both of the actresses have red hair, and didn't charlotte say that only she and her mother left the island and her father stayed? which is why people are now speculating that ben is charlotte's father? i dunno. married, not married, her last name is lewis, but we cannot make any assumptions until tptb let us know for sure.

Emily was Locke's mom's name, and Ben's mom's name. For sure about assumptions! We can make educated guesses and have firm suspicions, but there always seems to be more speculation than evidence.

Charlotte is an odd name to duplicate though. It isn't common like Emily or Tom. I don't think it's her either, but it doesn't seem to be outside the realm of possibility.

The reason I don't think they are the same Charlotte is that Charlotte Malkin, the psychic's daughter talks to Eko on Sept. 22, 2004, before he gets on Flight 815 looking like one person, and then Charlotte Lewis lands on the island around 2 to 3 months later looking like a totally different person.

I honestly don't remember the other Charlotte you are talking about...I need to go back and watch it. I like those post...I didn't think you were saying it was the same Charlotte---but more that it was foreshadowing. Thanks for mentioning this, allicat.
