Definitely appears to be Anubis. Remember, the glyphs on the 108 clock were meant to convey "Underworld".

I think it could be pretty much any Egyptian god or goddess. Horus, Set, or Anubis all seem to fit to me. Unless the statue's ears were cut off, I have a hard time picturing it as jackal-headed Anubis. Osiris can also be considered god of the Underworld as well.

Check our investigation here. We're leaning strongly towards it being Anubis. Of course, nothing is for certain, but the two Ankhs seem to point toward Anubis (you can make them out pretty clearly, one in each hand). Also, TPTB have previously mentioned the glyphs on the clock were meant to convey "Underworld", another tip to Anubis. I also think the "ears", which are problably stumps of broken off ears, make it most likely to be Anubis rather than Osiris, Horus, or Seth. Again, anything is possible, but when you look at the evidence as a whole, I think it is strongly weighted toward Anubis.

It's funny because other Egyptian gods on Wikipedia like Horus and Anubis use the exact same graphics besides the heads. I can't tell if they're accurate depictions or just laziness by the artist.

Regarding the statue, the head gear upon it got me thinking of a crown - the crown of Lower Egypt specifically. It looks a bit truncated so it may not be that at all but if it is the crown, the statue would date from pre-unification around 3100 BC. Lower Egypt is the section including the delta (Alexandria) down to Thebes, possibly lower...
also every representation I remember and have now looked up regarding Anubis has him holding an ankh in one hand an a staff in teh other. This statue could be poetic licence but he is holding two ankhs - perhaps a "twin" reference??

I have the eerie feeling that we haven t been shown all of the statue/face of statue because it will be a big surprise when they do. That said remember that there is this legacy of the leaders of the 'others' that is chosen from when he is young etc.... There has been Widmore and Ben BUT Locke has returned from the dead and this can be unequivocally be associated with 'eternal life'!!! Seeming that he will play an important role in a battle he might have been propophesised in the distant past of the island and depicted in the statue. He might also go there in the past and vanish with a glow leading the old inhabitants of the island to depict him in a statue. The other possible face could be of Richard which was given eternal life to choose the person that will save the world by leading the others. Remember that even though the face might be of Locke or Richard, in the statue they might be depicted as an old divinity

Well if it was the face of Locke, then we'd know why everyone thinks he's special.

I think it would be a good last scene for season 5 to show us the face of the statue!
