I understand why Sun seems the obvious choice, but I don't understand why she didn't flash and disappear like the others Huh  It lacks consistency.

We are leading up to the end of the SERIES. We have several major eras that need to be explored:

1. Statue/Temple time on the Island
2. Black Rock time on the island
3. Dharma time on the island

Having characters that are separated by time provides some dramatic tension to explore. There will be story lines about the Losties getting back into the correct time together.

I agree, Sun should have "flashed" like the others. This may be just an insight to there being someone else on the plane or just a new character???

That would really suck if it was Sun, and she was in a different time from Jin.

How about Charlotte? I know "she's dead on the island in the past" ....but why not?  Wink

My thought is that maybe Sun didn't flash with the others because not everyone that was supposed to go back was on the plane. Ms. Hawkings said that if everyone didn't go back that it would be unpredictable. So maybe that is what she meant.  Just a thought

Thanks! Obviously we never know with this show but that is just what I am thinking. This would be the unpredictability that Ms. Hawkings was talking about.

Exactly!  The unpredictability part kinda unnerved me. It was like, uh-oh.  What's gonna happen now?  But then, that's what makes the show exciting!! Because many times I am surprised at the way things turn out!  That's what makes this show so great! It's unpredictability!!!   (Unlike me...who is predictably confused and babbles incessantly).

If I were to assume, I'd have to guess that she time travelled somewhere, just not necessarily the same place as everyone else.  If most of the six blinked away, occam's razor would tell us she and Sayid probably did too (in fact, I think Sayid and Sun were further in the front of the plan, and Jack, Hurley and Kate were further to the back, so maybe that's why they went different places).

Ah Jack. How could I forget about Sayid?  Okay, please help me here peeps. Who was the woman that was handcuffed to Sayid?  She wasn't there either, was she?  I kept thinking it was the same woman with Caesar.  Or am I wrong (again?)  LOL!

Yeah, we're not sure yet where Sayid or Sun went, they could be together. But in that case, who left with Frank? And if Sun left with Frank, where's Sayid? Is Sayid in another time period all by himself? And will Sun ever be reunited with Jin? Sun would be pissed if she were in a different time period, I bet she'd kill Ben then!
