Just because Ben read a file on her life does not mean the files were accurate. Widmore could have had them forged to cover up her early years.

Oh I agree; but judging by Charlotte's reaction, I think this is the history that she believes, that her mother told her. (at least the part about where she was born)

well Charlotte only remembered being on the island after the nosebleeds had started so she wasn't aware of anything being different.

It all depends on how old she was when she left the island. If she was only 5 her Mum could tell her anything and eventually she'd believe that to be her past, how many things do you remember from that age, other than the things you've often talked about or had photo's of etc. Her whole history could be totally different but her mum could have said your were born on this date and your dad was called whatever.

Charlotte's older history, like where she lived and went to uni, that must be true becasue obviously she would know if it wasn't.

If Charlotte was older when she left the island then it doesn't really make sense.

WHO is her Father?Huh

Wasn't Charlotte the name of the young girl who supposedly came back to life after drowning in Season 2?  Her father was the psychic.

Same Charlotte?  She had reddish hair and the accent.

An important part of Charlotte's death scene was that she revealed Daniel warned her she would die if she returned to the island.

It confirms some time information about when Daniel was on the Island with Dharma (just prior to the purge in 1992).

It shows that Daniel does not necessarily believe it's pointless to try to change time - he is conflicted about the concept. Why warn Charlotte if you can't change anything? He tells Pierre it's pointless, but did something happen to change his mind later? Did he warn Charlotte's mother about the purge so she could get Charlotte off the island?

It explains why Charlotte wore a bullet-proof vest when she came to the island from the freighter. She might not have remembered on a conscious level that she was warned that she would die on the island, but she did sense a danger, obviously. This also shows that she probably is not reliving these events over and over – something I speculated based on the Desmond and Hawking encounter. It doesn’t mean this never happens, clearly Hawking and Desmond are living this phenomenon, but Charlotte and Miles probably aren’t. Though we still don’t know why Daniel, in the first episode we saw him in, was crying and didn’t know why he was crying.
