Okay, this is what has me stumped, well, along with most other things Lost related.
The losties jumped to a time when the beach camp was destroyed, it HAD been there, but was now demolished, hence it's after 2004 sometime, and there were wooden boats on the beach.
when was it? i've been holding to the theory that they can't jump FOREWARD, only backward, but this one has me stumped. could it have been after the shootout on the camp (when hurley vw'd the others) and before they got off the island?
what am i missing?

Sorry to tell you your assumptions about not traveling into the future was wrong. I am guessing it is sometime in 2007, the waterbottle is from the fake new airline used by the O6 or Widmores group to get back to the island.

so it's future island time, but not really the future in relation to la time.

what i don't get is how if they are in 2005 time and traveled to the future, they still have 2005 time knowledge... yet juliet knew that ajira airlines actually existed... but ajira is supposedly new, no?

Jeff Jensen has an interesting theory that it is Jack etc shooting at Sawyer's boat. So it would be sometime in 2008 when they get back to the island.
No idea if it is true or not.

That makes sense and we'll probably see it from Jack's point of view in Season 6. He thinks he's chasing the bad guys. If that's the case, who was it that Juliette shot?!?

Perhaps Ajira isn't as new as we think....could be the camp was raided by Others who are also bouncing around in time like the Flight 815 survivors.....I think the camp is circa 2009 or so.....which would make the point that perhaps Jack et al was shooting at them not knowing who took the boat but would they do that knowing that there were still their people left on the island?

I'm sorry...why don't we think it's the "present"?..meaning a few days after Ben turned the wheel and everything started going haywire....

The guy masquerading as Locke? I'm officially calling him Bocaj. I don't care if anyone else is on board. Just know that when I use the name Bocaj, I'm speaking of the Anti-Jacob. Oh...I may call him that too. It's official, in my book he is Bocaj and/or AJ. You've been warned

what if Julliette shot herself, they are skipping right now, but perhaps by then time has stablized and the ones left on the island have rejoined the O6

When the losties time-warped to the abandoned camp, with empty Dharma beer cans and Vincent's leash on the ground, they end up taking the boat on the shore to sail around the other side of the island to get to the Orchid station. While in the water and being followed by the "unknown's" boat, they time-warp and are able to keep the boat into the past.
I was almost thinking the boat would disappear and they would all fall into the water and have to swim to shore. But, when they went through time, and were still paddling in the boat, my mind went wild about how they are able to take things with them to new time periods. What properties of time-travel allow them to keep things and take things into different time periods? Would the same work with people? Most likely no, but it's an interesting thought. If they were touching someone from the future or the past, could that person come with them to the next time period?
What things can you take with you during a time-warp and what things can you not take? If you are simply touching something will it be with you in the next time period? Sawyer still has the old rifle from Richard's stolen US Military camp because he was holding it, and now this boat that they were all touching.
Will our losties end up taking more items from time that will end up helping them on their journey through time? Can anyone recall any instances in past episodes where something was mysteriously missing and we were never told what happened to it?

Another question is the Zodiac travels with them even though no one is touching it- Juliet's along for the ride comment. So will the new boat and Sawyers gun be "along for the ride" if no one is touching them? Or will they be left in that time period?

Ahh, I never even noticed you posted this under the title "along for the ride". My bad, buddy. Great point on the zodiac and now no longer being touched but still along for the ride. I am very interested to see what they will plan to do with the idea of being able to take things with them to new time periods. At first I thought it was almost a flaw that they were able to keep the boat, but I think there is more to it than what we know right now.
