In last nights enhanced episode I noticed when Mrs Hawkin comes out of the time cave Ben blows out the flame that lights candles. There is a switch in cameras and we see Ben blowing it out again. I tend to think that the editors would have caught this. Is this a hint as to time skipping? Or am I just being too anal about a minor edit glitch?

Too anal, or maybe he just didn't get it in one shot. It took my nephew 4 tries to blow out the candles on his birthday cake, and he's 3.

ya i noticed that too... maybe there were 2 candle lighters?? maybe he blew out a candle and a candle lighter?? maybe the editors didn't notice??

Is there something we can refer to about these specific "errors" in the show? Are we not to expect the same anal attention to every second in the show as they put into the story?

i saw that too, and it was good timing. yet, I've also heard the local abc lottery drawing cut into LOST while watching Locke walking away w/ his father's bodybag, and it made a 'grunt.
However it did seem redundant. It was either a technical error or there really is conspiracy. Ha!
No seriously, last season everyone made a big deal over Cheech being seen in the background of a shot, and it got blown int a whole n'other conspiracy

i definitely noticed this as well... i'm really big on errors like that and it kind of upset me that it happened.. because its the same exact scene shot at two angles, yet when they switched angles they still included a piece from the last.. lol but whatever, i'm not too sad about it

It's just a blooper. It happens in tv shows and big budget movies alike. In fact, in one of the shots he blows on it, it doesnt go out and he puts it down anyway. Also, the oxygen tank Jack uses on Sayid is empty, you can see the needle in the "refill" area of the gauge. Also, the "chevy" symbol is covered on the car and in one shot its covered in black tape and in another its covered in silver tape. Also, in the shot of Hurley and Ana Lucia you can see he's on a 4 lane road, but the shot in the rear view mirror is a curvy 2 lane road... it happens all the time.

I noticed this too and on first glance thought it must just be a bad edit.. However, unlike the Chevy symbol and oxygen tank listed above.. This is a much more obvious error as everyone seems to have noticed it..
My thinking is that what ever time anomoly that is affecting the island is growing and starting to be felt elsewhere.. Think about it, the whole time they were pressing the button they said the "world" would end if they didn't, not just the island.. Further along that line, when Ben is talking to Eloise and asks what would happen if he can't get the O6 back to the island, she says then god helps us all or some such.. Since they are no longer on the island, leads me to think that whatever is happening there will eventually affect the planet.
