Something I noticed last night, then realized they had shown us this before but camouflaged in other dialogue. When Sawyer was watching Kate and Claire, and the time skip started in, did anyone else notice that Kate and Claire were totally oblivious to it?? Seems like the only people who are affected by/notice the time skips are our time-traveling survivors. This might help to weed out paradoxes, because it implies that the time skips were happening the whole time, which means that if they were, anything that happened to the survivors that we want to call a paradox isn't a paradox, because nothing is being changed.
Also, for the people like me who think that Locke being shot in the leg (by Ethan, in the past) and losing the ability to walk (with Boone, in the "present") are tied into some kind of memory the island has might like this. Perhaps the whispers we here are really the survivors in the past talking. I think the conversations being had on the island in certain places get "stuck" there when the island shifts from one time to another.
Now, I'm not totally married to these ideas, but I do think that it makes a lot of sense. I really hope that someone can help me (all of us) put this piece of the puzzle where it goes, because it seems really important, I'm just not sure how.

Could that mean the "whispers" are actually the time skippers speaking?

The guy masquerading as Locke? I'm officially calling him Bocaj. I don't care if anyone else is on board. Just know that when I use the name Bocaj, I'm speaking of the Anti-Jacob. Oh...I may call him that too. It's official, in my book he is Bocaj and/or AJ. You've been warned

OK, in order to give this theory credence, let's find an example of whispers from previous seasons that we've been able to understand and match it up to what's going on with the losties "today."

Bingo I can't remember, but didn't the time skippers hear whispering at one point as well?

If I remember correctly, the whispers occur in two circumstances.
1. Someone alone in the woods hears the whispers but nothing happens. Sayid in season 1 after escaping Danielle, Sawyer when he tracks down the boar/reincarnation of the man he killed. With Sawyer, I think we can hear something like, "It comes back around," which has something to do with the boar-reincarnation and makes sense.
2. Whispering, then someone appears. Walt appeared to Shannon amid whispering, and Harper appeared to Juliet in the same way.
So if the whispering is from the time-shifting people, does that mean that Walt and Harper were time-shifting? And can anyone think of other times there was whispering that doesn't fit into these categories? All very interesting, but confusing...

I know what you mean about no one else seeing or hearing the time travel event. So we are pretty certaint the island is not moving along with the flashes. However I just need to know how the beechcraft made it to the island. The island moving around the world is the only thing that made sense.

I had the impression that the island didn't move very often, like a once or twice a century type of thing.

Does is any else think that it is possible that all of the whispers heard in the past episode, could be Sawyer, Locke, Juliet, Miles, Charoltte, and Daniel jumping through "Time". I just think it could be possible that when they shift through Time that they cannot be seen by the Losties in the past, but possible heard. Any opionions

Here is one transcript I found: This is from the episode "Solitary" when Sayid was alone in the woods: Man's voice: Just let him get out of here Man's voice: He's seen too much already Man's voice: What if he tells Woman's voice: Could just speak to him Man's voice: No

do the time skips happen every 108 minutes??? just a thought... I did notice that the time skips happen at very climactic moments. Not sure if this is significant or just the way the plot plays out for dramatic effect.

So are there two timelines? The normal timeline that the world is on, and a timeline that exists within the "sphere" of the island?
