WAY too many time-travel plots tell me that Charlotte is fading away, because of the characters' actions. Otherwise, why emphasize it so much?

What if Charlotte never existed?

I like this, we have heard that Charlotte may have been born on the island, what if out team going to the past is effecting that from ever happening, like maybe the guy Locke threw the knife into at the end of The Lie was Charlotte's father or grandfather.

so you guys think they are continually flashing backwards?

in the first episode it seemed to me as though they were going in the past, then the present-ish, then past, then present-ish (obviously present-ish isn't 2004/2005 but near it)

if not, how did richard know that THE NEXT TIME Locke moved through time he wouldn't reconize locke.?

Which would prove "course correction" to be bunkum!

I wondered if Charlotte could be the baby in Pierre Chang's base? There's been no definitive verification that it's his or (presumably) his wife's biological child. I need to see the scene again, but on first viewing, the baby looked caucasian.

maybe she's getting sick and dying because they're flashing into the future and she hasn't lived that long, like maybe she was supposed to be dead in 2009 but they jump to 2010?  so you can't be alive if you're really dead?
they haven't jumped into the future, only the past, so far.

I stick by my Locke and Richard fixing his leg was a future meeting theory.
ya i'm pretty sure it was in the future too

otherwise why would richard be so friendly with john

I'm convinced that Richard giving the compass to Locke happened instantaneously after Locke disappeared the very first time in 2005.  Locke didn't know when that incident happened when he related the story to Richard.  There's no way for Richard to know when to go to the plane to find Locke.  The only thing that makes sense is that, as soon as Locke disappears in 2005, Richard (remembering the 1954 incident and story) immediately heads to the plane and finds Locke with a bullet in his leg.

Either Charlotte was a rat in a past life or in a future incarnation. Therefore, with the time changes, she is experiencing the lab rats demise.

I'm 99.9% sure that Pierre Chang's baby wasn't asian.

Here's a Google Image Search of asian babies:
http://images.google.com/images?rls=en&q=asian%20baby&oe=utf-8&hl=en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi

Here's the baby which Chang was feeding...

It has light-brown/auburn hair for a start - unless the orange light in the room is making it appear ginger-haired.

I'm convinced it's Charlotte.

I was thinking that the baby was Miles.

the baby looks like a baby... it doesn't matter. its not like the writers can make a baby look like the grown up actor...
