Maybe Ben was actually the person who killed Nadia so that Sayid would have no reason to stay off the island? Lol I have no idea.
i've always felt like this was true. i think Ben killed Nadia knowing that then he could get sayid, in all his anger/grief, to come over to the dark side and help him as his personal assasin.I like this idea, it means Ben has a ridiculously huge support system set up off the island and that he has knowledge of future events. Nadia reunited with Sayid, married him, and got herself killed all in the time it took Ben to turn the wheel and show up in the Tunisian hotel to see Sayid on the television. Ben lost those 10 months, but he definitely could have had someone do the dirty work for him.
the only thing i can think of against this, is that when the guy who supposedly killed Nadia was being followed by Ben in iraq, put a gun to Ben and then got killed by sayid after Ben said he had a message for mr widmore.
I have no doubt that Widmore had that man follow sayid for himself. But I don't necessarily think that he killed Nadia. I think Ben had something to do with that. why would widmore kill her? what motive would he have? but Ben knowing that widmore had a guy following sayid (and probably all the other o6's) Ben used that to his advantage with sayid. told him that so he can gain his trust, use her death as motivation and get him to be on his side and help. that would be bens motive.
