Am wondering about the symbolism of the final scene occurring in a laboratory and a chapel ...

…. why is Ben lighting multi-colored candles, surely not to provide light? … or better, to whom is he appealing in lighting the candles? … what are Ben and Mrs. Hawking about to do up in the chapel, some sort of ceremony?  And what did she unroll, a map upon the altar?

Whatever answers TPTB use to explain the mysteries of this island are going to have to deal with both science and religion; both time travel, electromagnetism, quantum physics, and the mysterious Jacob, life beyond death, and "Jack, why do you find it so hard to believe? (Locke)"

Does the final reveal somehow synthesize or at least deal with these two great opposite worlds, the world of science and the world of faith?

I think this is what we are all wondering ourselves. Undecided.. Hopefully, tptb were not lying when they said this season we will get more answers than questions finally. I still have to watch the last two episodes again before Wednesday which always brings up new questions and answers for me, because I catch more stuff the second time around.

but the one thing I am pretty sure of is that a lot of it, if not all ,has to do with "the world of science and the world of faith".
