Ok, I might be looking too far into it, but Ms. Hawking doesn't seem to age (like Alpert), does she? We've seen her back when Des had his time jump thing. We've seen her in the photograph at the monastery (a few years later at least), and at least 10-15 years later to present time. She looks the same each time.

1If indeed it is true as per Ms. Hawking et. al., what makes these individuals stop aging at the certain points they are at?
2Or have they just really slowed down on the molecular level, on proximity to the isle...Hawking aging more b/c of here excursions?
This last I really have no faith in but had to say as it was a thought that came.

But the first is interesting...

What about Daniel not aging either?

He was there when the Orchid was built looking the same as today?

That is explained by the Record skipping island time jumps. When the island jumps them all to the 70s, Dan gets a closer look at the frozen donkey wheel.

That is most likely his current time shifting...his being gone for two hours...though does that explain him possibly being the camera man for Mssr. Candle?

The time frame is not even close to being similar for Hawkings and Richard. Richard has been the same age in time periods 50 years apart. Now that we know there is time traveling, aging may not have anything to do with Richard.

I don't know what is up with Richard at all. He could be dead, ageless or a time traveler. What I do know is that it is not proper to connect it to Hawkins look over a much smaller time frame.

Yes, I think it is... on the video called The Barracks Video, released at Comic Con this year apparently.  Go to the home page here, and scroll down to the essay called "The Many Faces of..."  where AstroJones does a lovely job of comparing the orientation videos we've gotten so far.  The one we're discussing here (where Daniel is likely the cameraman) is the last one, which has not been seen in the show yet but was released by Carlton/Cuse at that convention this summer.

Edit: Or... you could just click on Princess Leia's link above...  Smiley  We're following each other around the threads...

Ok well I think I have a really crazy theory on Richard and his aging.  He obviously does age because he looks different when we see him meet young Ben.  Here is what I think happens.  When we see Richard going to see Baby Locke, this is actually taking place after Locke leaves the island in a couple of episodes and the island is still shifting in time.  Then he goes and sees him when he is around 10.  This is him still going when the island is shifting in time, this is why he looks the same and why he ask Locke what Items are already his.

Now one other thing when we see Richard talking to young Ben in the woods is this the youngest that we have seen Richard or is the oldest that we have seen Richard.   HMMMM     Food For Thought.
