Emmy's 2008 - Lost Nominations
« on: July 20, 2008, 11:12:37 PM »
Not sure if you guys saw this, but Lost was nominated for 8 Emmy's this year:

- Best drama series
- Michael Emerson for best supporting actor
- John Bartley for cinematography ("The Constant")
- Michael Giacchino for musical composition
- Single camera picture editing ("There's No Place Like Home" Part 2 & 3)
- Sound editing ("The Shape of Things to Come")
- Sound mixing ("Meet Kevin Johnson")
- Outstanding Special Class - short format Live-action entertainment (for Lost: Missing Pieces)

So what do you think?  Do they re-gain the Best Drama crown?  Does Michael Emerson get any love as best supporting actor?  I'm quite biased, but I thought Emerson was phenomenal this year.  This season seemed to be much more critically acclaimed, so I wouldn't be shocked if he won.

The one real snub I can think of is I thought for sure Cuse & Lindeloff would be nominated for best drama writing for "The Constant."

But finally give Giacchino a statue.  He is THE BEST!!!

Seriously, take away the music in Lost and it would be like losing a major character.

Agreed 100% on Giacchino - I can't believe he doesn't have one already.  And I can't wait for the soundtrack for S4 to come out - I think he one-upped himself yet again.

Yunjin Kim definitely could've been nominated for supporting actress, either for her performance in "No Place Like Home" or "Ji Yeon," which I thought was a very strong episode for her.

I don't think that Sun would actually have won best supporting. She did well, but she still has some major flaws in her acting, imho. Giacchino deserves more than an Emmy. He deserves a knighthood or something.

Sun did an okay job but nothing award winning unless they are referring to her crying  at the end. Maybe this year as the witch she will portray she might get it..
