Wasn't what was happening in the Orchid the same as what happened in the Swan's explosion?
Seemed to be the same noise and beaming sound just not the extensive purple blinding light.

Well, to be honest, I didn't see the sky turn purple when the swan imploded. I watched it several times, and I didn't see it, but I accept it. As for the similarities to the noise and what not, yeah, they were similar, but that doesn't mean they were both near magnetism.

Yeah, same here.  I didn't see the Swan sky turn purple.  But everyone on the island says it turned purple and the producers said we'd see another purple sky moment.

Bob-
You would have to go to the dock scene when Ben is standing there looking up into the sky. The noise was so lous that everyone else seemed to cover their ears. The lighting does seem to flicker several different shades.

Orchid was very similar to what was happening at the Swan

Purple shmurple!

Yes, man, I freaked out when the video rewound and yes I think it was some crazy force keeping John and us always wondering what the rest of it was about. I feel like if we buy season 4 on dvd when it comes out there will be a special feature with the last minute of it for our eyes to behold *fingers crossed and eyes squeezed shut* WRITERS ARE YOU LISTENING!??? <---sorry about the caps rage

Look's to me that the tape started rewinding at 3:05 min. STRANGE!!

Also looks like the tape is not damaged by the rewind or by the metalic objects in the "shift chamber".
It was playing a second time when Keamy entered.

I thought the tape rewinding was a foreshadowing that the island was about to actually move back in time, not space.  We'll see.

Oh the color thing isn't a question I have, like I said, I watched it, but didn't see it, oh well.

This may sound like a dumb question, but why is the 3:05 significant?? I might be overloaded with too much LOST stuff that I'm not seeing it.

305 is a bearing that was used.

Remember the big debate on the two bearings that were given?

Could the VCR tape being rewound be similar to Horce having his time loops if the VCR begins playing again when Keamy enters?
