All this stuff about Dan in a time loop is pretty interesting, and it does seem to fit.  Reminds me of a time loop concept in a movie I saw - people who are living the time loop may not have conscious memories of what "happened" the last time through the loop, but they may have unconscious memories or feelings, almost like deja vu.  Maybe that's what was happening with him crying.

<edited to remove movie name since I realized I was spoiling the movie>

Are you serious......
Seriously?
We are going to stasrt using Sarah McLaclan songs........ Eeeesh!

But anywho, that's where I was going with the Dan's note book and his "extra" sketches (i.e. Des your constant, Orchid Logo) and now to add in his emotional break down while watching the discovery of 815.
If Dan is not a 06 or 02 and is having all this "time looping" does he get stuck on island or someplace else?

He can't be an O2. Jack would have had to name two people whom were actually on the flight manifest.

So Death or stranded on island is his outcome

I think he'll likely be stranded on the Island and be, shall we say, mildly intrigued when the Island moves.

Death isn't the only alternative though. Any of the freighter people could return to the real world without raising any eyebrows. Just makes the coverup a little less likely to succeed.

Daniel won't die - there's too much story left to tell about him.  I bet he gets stranded on the Island and plays more of a role next year.  (typing the words "next year" just sent me into a mild panic attack as I realized that Lost will be gone until February 2009...)

"GASP!" You mean.... I have to wait till Feb 09!
By then though I will have to have that new box ($80)for my TV so that I can get signals over the air.

PASS THE DE-FIB....... and  "CLEAR!"

*serious with living in CA it's cheaper

With Ben teleporting off the island, it will become Daniel's job to figure out how everything works for the Still Losties.
