the orchid logo is swirley...the swirls swirl around the orchid...

Need to take a look at Dan's journel for this one and the connection of the Orchid stations logo. Dan's journel shows what appears to be a hour glass shape. All thoughts about black holes and all seem to point to his sketch. Something is sucked in and pulled(elongated) and sucked through to some place else.

Or a GIANT TIDAL pool will appear and suck them down.

I thought "typhoon" was just an Asian name for "hurricane", the large-area thing that gets named.

I thought a "tornado at sea" is what's called a "waterspout", tight winds but only pinpoint damage along a narrow path.

Either way, it seems pretty implausible that it would sweep up a usable raft and supplies from the bottom of the ocean.

A hurricane, typhoon and cyclone are the same thing.
A hurricane is in Caribians, a cyclone in China and Japan and a typhoon in the indian Ocean.

The 6 come on land in Indonesia and said they were on an island in the Indian ocean.
The name of a hurricane there is typhoon.

Someone once said that they 2004 Tsunami (Christmas Day) would eventually play into the storyline.  It looks like they have changed that idea to make it a typhoon instead.  Two completely different weather events.

But is the typhoon caused by the island moving or did the typhoon bring the oceanic 6 from close to Fiji
to the Indian Ocean (like something brought Ben from the island to the Tunesian desert) or is it just a typhoon and they use it in their story to explain how they escaped the Indonesian island?

somewhere i read the tsunami storyline got nixed because it didn't want to appear that the writers were glamorizing the real tsunami, or using it to the benefit of the story
