Signs was awesome. Most everybody I know hated it.
The Village was corny and The Water Chick one was horrible.

I hate to be a pooper but I haven't heard one good thing about this movie and trust me I'm a huge fan. I've seen all his movies and loved Lady and Village and Unbreakable (I only liked Signs and Sixth Sense). I heard this was weird in a bad way, the acting was bad, and the situations didn't really go anywhere? I feel bad saying this b/c I really wanted to go see it but it sounds like even his fans didn't like it ;S I'd save your money!

I like just about all of his movies until the end- and then I find myself asking...."Did I just pay good money to watch a terrible twist ending?" The only one that has ever paid off IMO- is Signs. I am going to wait until the DVD on this one- no matter how much hype it gets! *steps off soapbox*

haha that is awesome Jen! No I liked most all his movies. I didn't mind his crazy mind <--- sounds goofy. But then again I lived in Seattle for a few years and we were all about crazy indie/anime/foreign films...anything that excited a liberal granola hippy type was good. We all worshiped at the alter of Andy Warhol I guess M. Night's movies appealed to us for some reason. Something to talk about I suppose? |

Saw it last nite - here's my take: WTF - what your brain is repeating for the first ten minutes then it shifts to a more subduded "what the hell?" as you try to figure out what is going on and why - even after they tell you what happened you will mull it over and wonder if it's even plausible (which I think it is). You can really get sucked into it - if you can ignore some of the dialogue which is unfortunate. People in the theater were actually laughing at some parts (and you just couldn't help yourself) - the delivery was a little strange. But overall a good flick - not quite 6th Sense level but Shymalan pulls another one out of his hat - even the ending is good. I liked the twist in the Village and the 6th Sense - saw Signs and don't remember how it ended  haven't seen Lady in the Water yet. |
