the center part looks like a bean sprout, i guess that would go along with the orchids cover being that of plant research

stamin and pistil I think are what the center of the flower is called...the thingy in the patch looks like that...

So we know that a polar bear made it there and Ben had a coat when he got there, So we can make a huge jump and say that the teleport station is located in the giant Dharma freezer where the polar bears live. While trying to leave, he was attacked by a polar bear who cut his right arm and scared him(teeth chattering) so thats why he missed his destination both chronologically and geographically.

This makes as much sense as anyother theory I have heard.

Yes it is a huge jump. We know there are polar bears on the island and the orchid video shows us the possiblity of teleportation. This leads us to the conclusion that the polar bear was a test subject of teleportation.

With all due respect, that theories makes a lot less sense the one above.
