Hurley and Sun

Was it just me or did he seem a little to happy that no one else was going to be there with them?

Well, you saw how he reacted to Jack's visit.  Kate can't travel and maybe he knows what Sayid is up to.  Hurley, except for running the others down in the van, is a pretty timid dude.

Yeah, I was waiting for them to start making out or something weird.  He seemed suspicious when he showed up, but everything seemed normal and strictly friend-based between them.

I think Hurley even said good!?!?!  Could be wrong, I'm watching it a second time right now.  I totally thought they were gonna start laughing maniacally.  (insert dr. evil laugh here)

Yeah there was just something about it that seemed off to me.

Same here. I'm rewatching it all now but that comment by Hurley was totally confusing. Why wouldn't Jack come? Does he have something better to do all of a sudden?

Also, do they usually have a round mound of dirt on Korean memorial sites? Because if Jin's body isn't buried there why was that mound there?

The thing is, we don't know exactly where everyone in their flashforwards and what they are doing at the time.  Does that make sense?  I mean, we don't know how long after they got back that Jack went to see Hurley.  Sayid killing for Ben.  Hurley seeing Sun.   Is it 2 months, 4 months, 5 months or a different period of time since they were rescued?

This is true.  We don't know anything about what their relationships with each other are like.

My bet:  Hurley did something, like told someone something.  Or, maybe while he was in the mental hospital he had more visits like the one from Jack, where people were checking up on him to make sure that he wasn't going to tell and he took offense to it.  Who knows?

It was a very weird comment.

There is the possiblitity that Hurley and Sun went to the grave site just to put up a front. Maybe Jin is still on the island. Sacraficing to get Sun off the isalnd. The way Hurley stated that they needed to go see Jin, sounded like a task to take care of more than visiting a grave. Sun would still be emotional since she missed him and is not sure what has happened.

I dunno about the "front" issue. She was talking at the graveside in Korean, and she seemed very intent and sincere. Who was the front for? No one else was around.

Also, although I agree each FF has been at a different point in time in the future, this one is more easily pinned. It is only months into the future (from island time) since the birth of the baby is happening. My guess was therefore that Hurley had not yet gone into the mental hospital. That all that happened after this FF's time frame -- and at that point in time Hurley is starting to feel as if they'd made a mistake and tries to convince Jack of the same.

Later in time still, we see that Jack has lost it and also really thinks it was a mistake, and he's trying to convince Kate.

I could easily see this series ending with all of the six (well, with Aaron being part of Kate) deciding they'd made a mistake and all of them finding a way back to the island ... after we discover that's Ben in the coffin, of course.  :D

I agree with all of this, too...it wasn't as if there the press and paparazzi were all out there capturing the life of one of the "Oceanic 6". The entire scene came off as VERY private and personal...so much so that even Hurley was essentially left out when Sun "spoke" to Jin.

Also, if Jin was still alive on the island I doubt Sun would want to visit his grave knowing he was still alive...it would be bad karma or too uncomfortable. She'd simply talk to him from the privacy of her house/apartment...

I think that speculation on this is futile at the moment. Because we don't know what the circumstances were that caused only 6 of them to be rescued. There was already a rift in the group before rescue with survivors turning against each other. We know that Kate ended up with Aaron but we don't know how that happened. We know that Jack refused to see Aaron so there is an issue there. We know that Hurley wasn't happy to see Jack when he visited. So what I'm trying to say as I babble on here is that the survivors cohesiveness was definitely crumbling and there are more issues and conflicts coming.....
So there could be a multitude of reasons why Hurley was happy no one showed up but him that just haven't come to light yet. Maybe we'll find out more if they stay in the present long enough to tell us....LOL

I'm gonna guess that this scene with Hurley and Sun happened before Hurley saw Charlie, because Hurley goes back to the nuthouse after that and I don't think they'd be letting a "crazy" take a vacation to Korea. Also, someone asked where Jack was... hmm, maybe in surgery? Remember, he's still a somewhat functioning spinal surgeon at this point of the flashforwards.  You also have to think about what kind of thoughts these people would be having when they see eachother again, obviously some crazy shyte has happened to them on the island, and I'm guessing some even crazier shyte is going to happen immediately before, during, and immediately after getting off the island. Those might be some thoughts that someone like Jack wouldn't want to recall again so soon.

I would agree...but the date on the tombstone makes me wonder. If he was one of the 8 and died in some manner during the rescue, why not put that date on the tombstone? THe date implies that he is still alive.

Good points from everyone.

One thing I'm positive about is it took a lot of fabric to make Hugo's suit.
