Who is Richard Alpert? I think he is someone from the Black Rock, what do you think?

welcome! Stick around and you'll see this question brought up a lot. The short answer is... we don't know.

Until we know more...

Richard Alpert is one of the original Others (before Dharma came along).  He met Ben when he was a small boy and presumably recruited, trained, and taught him what the island is and can do.   Many people suspect he was on the Black Rock and simply hasn't aged.  I believe he is even more simply a descendant of Black Rock people and has good skin.

I'll go with the descendent of Black Rock people line of thinking.

I just wanna know where this man is keeping his secret mascara stash.  Maybe one of the Dharma stations is packed full of nothing but mascara?  Or maybe it's Maybelline... maybe Richard hooked up a deal with them during one of his off-island trips to drop crates of mascara on the island DHARMA-style.... or maybe not

The last re-cap epi indicated that he was indigenous to the Island.

& don't hate him because he's beautiful. ;)

Yeah, but frank also refereed to Juliet as a "Native".

Can anyone really be indigenous  to the island?

Good point.  What I mean is that he was contrasted to the Black Rock crew & called one of the Island's "original inhabitants."

I hear ya'.  Damon & Carlton had nothing to do with this past one because of the strike, too, so it's hard to say if it's reliable info.

exactly.

I also don't like them for the same reason that i don't like spoiler material. i hard enough time accepting the mobisodes and the orchid video.

I've also thought about the possibility of him being one of the Black Rock people.  I'd say he's either an original Black Rock person or not from it at all.  I don't think you can have "descendents" on the island, due to the whole babies and children die during childbirth.
