If Sayid used the ships power and something happened it would have alerted the freighter crew to Syaid doing somehting he shouldn't be doing aboard. Not to mention possibly stranding the freighter in the middle of the ocean.

What ship are they on the Enterprise?? Stuff like that is only in the movies.

Yes - this is what I was meaning.  He transformed from "against Ben" to "with Ben".  Something happened in that room....
