This episode had me yelling "OMG!" more than any previous episode, for what that's worth.

The love story between Des and Penny makes the JACK/KATE/SAWYER thing look like third grade, this was an AMAZING episode, it dealt with the personal and love struggles of des and penny WHILE still bringing in a LOT of the other aspects of what is going on, PLUS it introduced whole new people and dynamics for the show. As this show ended and I watched them finally speak to one another after all this time, I felt almost as though they could go ahead and end the entire series with that. It was beautiful

Yeah, what Ed said!! Des is just a great character played by a GREAT actor. He really is what made the show so good!

In a way I think it explains Jack's weird behavior in his flash forward episode when he told the chief of surgery to find Christian and see if Jack is drunker than Christian. Jack is bouncing around in time, too. I think everyone who leaves the island will experience some degree of past/present/future confusion.
I actually think that's a great point. YES!!! SOL, you are so smart!! And his constant would be Kate?? The problem with that, is you dont get to pick which year you flash back to, what if he flashes back to a year without Kate...

this was the best episode so far.
i think the spy may have opened the door for sayid and desmond allowing them to get to the phone. i also like the aspect of time travel, caused by electromagnetic exposure. they also said the future can not be changed so they can do whatever in the past and talk to anyone and they will still be course corrected and end up on the island unless they do not find the constant.

The real reason for rave 'the constant' reviews: Is that Eggtown was such a bad episode. It had a good ending, Locke Grenade sandwich and Miles offer to Ben. Other than that not much. Lets see we already knew Kate was an oceanic 6 member, we knew that from the 3rd season finale, we knew Kate's mom would not press charges, nothing as good as the Other Woman. OW had a whisper scene, Other's flashbacks, a new hatch, confirmation of Widmore, Juliet in a bikini, new Other character(Harper), reason for Ben's obssesion with Juliet, and great Locke-Ben scenes. What does everyone think of the scene with Jack,Juliet, and Harper?

We already have this topic, more than once. So I merged them.
In addition, I get it. Some people really loved the Constant. Having 6 topics stating this does not make it true.
Some of us thought it wasn't as good as other people thought. That is ok, it is just an opinion. You don't have to go on and on trying to convince people.

I wouldn't put this #1, definitely Top 10 and best of this season. I also believe this was Henry Ian Cusick's best performance yet on Lost.

Personally, I love this episode the best so far. There were so many revelations and Henry Ian Cusick gave such a stellar performance! And the ending really got me!
