He's listed in the credits on IMDB as "Italian Man."  But Sayid definitely said his name.

but to get back on topic of golf...he seems to be a man of all seasons...golf, playa, assasin, radio communications, helicopter tech...and he makes a mean fruit salad...

the spelling of the man's name should have been avelinoe which gives the anagram a evil one, i think 8)
