AGREE, but MPU's and manipulation aren't mutually exclusive, necessarily.

#1 - NO MPU's
(No, it didn't)
#2 - this show is absolutely fantastic!!!
(it is)

The MPU's don't have to be in sync with each other, even though they are parallel, they may not be on the same thread of time.

Ahhh...now i get it, thanks. Well, I'm glad that's off the window.
We need to remember the show needs to have a (at least) reasonable/believable/understandable for the majority of the viewers explanation for the fenomena that happens over there. Multiple Parallel Universes seems waay too out there...

horrible quoting bro, but anyway, there IS NO WAY THERE ARE MPU'S, no way what-so-ever, i'm not going to argue with you, but with all the references of scientists with in the last two episodes, NOT one points to any MPU's, nothing on the show in the season thus far has shown MPU's

but we have seen a time manipulation and thats a fact

Yeah that's one of the theories that I loathe.  The scientific theory that space-time can be warped by gravity or electromagnetism makes much more sense to me and I think other viewers as well.

I agree. In fact, I got really upset after it seemed that Desmond time traveled. That was too much for me.

Damon and Carleton have said no time travel/no clones.
They also said Christian is dead. So unless they are lying, you have to agree with cbw420 and his signature, as much as I hope dead people show back up.

I had posted this on another thread that was looking into the whole Time Space thing.  I think it may also apply here.

One thing that might possibly support this is the theory of General Relativity.  One of the predictions of GR is that time should appear to run slower near a massive body like the earth.  Maybe the Island is an extremely massive body (not size but mass).  This is explained in the Twins theory.  One twin stays on earth the other goes on a rocket ship a near the speed of light for certain amount of time and when he gets back he is younger than the one who stayed on earth.  The one in space was away from the earth so time ran faster for him than the earth twin.  This is all explained much better in Hawking's "A brief history of time", which is one of the books that has appeared on the island.  Interestingly and probably just a coincedence, the second person that Hawking thanks on the acknowledgement page of "ABHoT" is Robert Geroch "R.G" the same initials as Naomi's bracelet.  Geroch did a lot of work with the whole Time/Space thing.

So if the Island is very massive than maybe time runs much slower there.  There are probably a lot of holes in this theory but maybe this will put someone else on the right track.
