Does this mean that Dharma has been doing experiments elsewhere in the world. Looks like they did their adaptive studies in more than one place.

I don't think so Jugg. Why would they put a collar from the hydra station on a bear they were studying somewhere else? I think that bear got there some other way. Something more mysterious and mysticalish.

See now I am really confused. Maybe they transported it there to see if it could adapt to desert conditions?

maybe it was thrown there when the sky turned purple. (that was from Versed, by the way. Very funny.)

I was waiting to see a James Ford bullet hole in that bear. The would have been cool.

You know, my first thought when that scene started was the scene from Close Encounters of the Third Kind when they're walking through the desert and they find a giant boat dropped off by the aliens (or was that the WWII fighter planes?).
But anyway, that was a sweet scene, and I admit that ideas flashing through my head included some strange time/space warp thing whereby the polar bear was from the Island but somehow the Island had morphed into a desert in Tunisia. Needless to say, I quickly refuted that theory in my own mind.

My only thought was that this polar bear was adapted to somehow prefer a hot climate over a cold one. Somehow, god only knows, it got off the island and went somewhere that it was most comfortable. It could have even been taken there, as Juggy suggested, to do further testing.

i think that it was a scientific experiment from dharma.. :] not saying there are other facilities, but it was transported there by dharma, quite a time ago.

had me confused especially if it was an archological dig, how old was it? Could it have been a time travel for the bear?

Dharma Hydra logo on the bear collar. So it either got blown there by the swan imploading or there is some time/space thing going on with the island. Not time travel, just like teleportation.

If it was time travel, wouldn't the leather collar be disintegrated?
