Well, I had one of my moments when Locke was lying on the ground with Jack leaning over him with a gun to his head. Granted, you probably shouldn't taunt a man who is pointing a gun at you, but STILL - I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT JACK PULLED THE TRIGGER. When Sawyer killed Tom in the last ep, I got all huffy and pissed off - this is why I hate Sawyer, cold blooded murderer, blah blah blah. But NOW - they (TPTB) shook my world!! Jack would have killed Locke, without a second thought... did he not think about the fact that "rescue" was on the way and he was just about to put a bullet through someone's head? Consequences much? How do you face somebody that you literally tried to murder? How did Locke know not to load his gun?

To me, it's evidence of something we have caught a peek of during last season: that Jack has transformed from the calm, good-natured doc who doesn't want to be a leader to a leader corrupted by his power. I really don't like Jack, but even if I did I'd still believe he's pushing things too far: he ALWAYS believes he knows what he's doing, he keeps on ordering people around, doesn't accept no for an answer. He thinks too much of himself, and neither the island nor the writers are going to let him get away with that.

I do think this was way over the top for Jack and there's no way he should have done it, but John has thwarted every plan to get them off the island so far. I think, exhausted and stressed out Jack wanted to make damn sure it didn't happen again.

I don't like Jack - he shouldn't have pulled the trigger. Locke has been a bit of a pest but he's trying to do the right thing everytime and Jack is just a bit too egotistical. I'm looking forward to watching him unravel this season, I'll probebly prefer a darker Jack

Didn't you always like dark Charlie? I do think this was way over the top for Jack and there's no way he should have done it, but John has thwarted every plan to get them off the island so far. I think, exhausted and stressed out Jack wanted to make damn sure it didn't happen again.
I'm with LAS (again lol). Jack has had "rescue" waved in his face so many times. Each time Locke has snatched it away. Locke & Jack are BOTH doing what they think is the right & best thing. I think the "man of science/ man of faith" thing is in play again. Locke couldn't kill Jack, because he has faith that things may work out another way. Jack, however, felt the need to take matters into his own hands & "fix" the problem. He could only be sure of rescue if he eliminated the most powerful force opposing it. While I'm generally anti-homocide , I will say that I was happy to see Jack finally man up. But then he cried again, so he cancelled it out.

His bluff was called..

I'm a little confused... whose bluff was called? I just don't get what you're saying... Although I do find it odd for Locke to go around carrying an unloaded gun...

Locke pointed the gun at Jack and told him not to call...he did it anyway and Locke didnt shoot him...Jack called his bluff, maybe the gun was already empty...odd for Locke to carry an unloaded gun? when is anyones behavior not odd...lol
