Sigh. The people who went with Locke either
a) Are dead (Danielle, Alex, Karl, multiple red shirts.) b) Got locked out of a cabin during a mercenary attack and so now have abandoned him. (Claire and Sawyer) c) Saw him go running off into the jungle, abandoning them (assuming there are any red shirts left alive in Othersville)
or
d) Are staying with him under coercion (Hurley)
I don't imagine the beach people will get away with no losses, but so far they're doing way better.

I think Hurley chose to go with Locke, not that he was forced. Sure, there were guns involved, but I think Hurley wants to see Jacob.
