Mobisode #11 - “Jin Has A Temper Tantrum”

[Jin, Hurley, and Michael are playing golf. Jin is putting.]

Hurley: All right Jin, you sink this putt, you win.

Michael: He can’t understand you.

Hurley: He can feel me, dude. He can feel me.

[Jin misses. ]

Michael: Yes!

Hurley [To Michael]: Congratulations, dude. [To Jin] It’s all right, Jin, you’ll get him next time.

[Jin goes on a rant, screaming (in Korean) and running around.]

Jin: No, why? Why can’t I hit the ball in the hole?

Michael: Hey it’s ok man, it’s only a game.

Jin: Shut up! Don’t pity me! All I wanted was one thing to go right.

Hurley: You can’t…

Jin: Do you want to say something? You don’t talk for once, you don’t talk! How can I lose to both Hurley and Michael?

Hurley: I think I heard our names in there somewhere.

Jin: I hate this horrible island. Why doesn’t anybody understand me? All I wanted was one moment of happiness! Why? Why can’t I be happy? Who invented this crazy game? No! You horrible ball! Why?

Michael: Maybe we should do something?

Jin: Please take this handcuff off! I’m going crazy.

Jin: You don’t care about me, do you? Don’t look at me with pity in your eyes. I’ve beaten men for lesser offenses!

Hurley [to Michael who headed toward Jin]: Eh, don’t touch him. Let him get it out.

Jin: No! You horrible ball! Why couldn’t you go in the hole? You horrible ball! Why? Why? Why?

Hurley: Maybe we should take a break from golf for a while.

Jin sits down and cries: I’m so alone. I’m so alone.

[Michael picks up the golf bag, and he and Hurley walk away.]

Hmmmmm, confirmation Jin is a more complex character and he won't be killed off anytime soon?

The Ethan Jack one was good, gave us some background. But this crap?THis better not be a sign of the season to come.

As for Kate, from what I understand, she was busy filming elsewhere, so maybe not available for the mobisodes  

As for the ACTUAL shows, I was going to tell you "don't stop believing" but that just reminded me of the Sopranos ending and now I'm depressed!  Seriously, I've got a gut feeling that the coming season is not going to disappoint.  They probably won't answer too many questions too quickly, but that doesn't mean the shows can't still be great.  Chin up, we're almost there!

Wow, these have flown by, haven't they.  I think they helped pass the weeks until the new season, which is probably all they were supposed to do in the first place!

I liked it.  For the first time we really get to understand what Jin is going through, and how alone he actually is on the island.  Keep in mind, I think this was around the time that he and Sun were sort of...on the outs.  Poor guy!  Stupid ball!

True, but we already knew he was frustrated by the language and had a temper. Give me something new.

I loved it, it showed Jin's sad depressed side, he was wearing the handcuff, and Michael seemed to want to console him, maybe this is trying to show Michael as a better person than what we have seen.

I really like this one.  It made me laugh and be sad at the same time.  It was typical of true life.  You can be going on with your life and then something so insignificant will happen (ie: golf ball not going in to the hole) and all the frustration and sadness will come bubbling out.  The people around don't understand because you have been keeping it so bottled up and hidden.  It was just a really good short.

Good point here.  All of the mobisodes with Michael he is a much more sympathetic...kinder person that when he left.  I think this might be the writer's way of getting us to warm up to him a bit, remember the good things about him too.
