Is the island getting revenge on desmond?

maybe his flashes are all from the island. think about it, he is always doing dangerous stuff that supposedly charlie was going to do. one of these times desmond might take charlies place in something super dangerous and die himself. maybe the island is pissed he turned the key.

I don't know about that.  The hatch was man-made to harness or otherwise control or contain the island's natural energy.  Turning the key destroyed the hatch.  Maybe the island is now free to do what it wants.

I think this way too.  Or maybe it's that I can't figure out what Des did to make the island unhappy.  I don't think it would be about the hatch.

If the island if pissed at anyone, I don't think it would be Desmond.  What if Desmond's flashes are a gift from the island for destroying the hatch?
