of course! Desmond saw Claire and Aaron getting on a heli, but he did not saw if it was rescue or not, or WHEN!!!!
If it was rescue, why only Claire and Aaron?
I think desmond wanted to believe it was rescue, but how could he be shure???
And YES, NAOMI IS LYING
I think he only SAID Claire & Aaron, since they are the ones that Charlie cares about the most. If he would have said Hurley or Kate, Charlie would have asked, "What about Claire & Aaron?" |

Remember that Desmond's vision only showed Claire and her baby being picked up by a helicopter. I think that Desmond presumed they were to be rescued. However, he didn't say anything about them getting back to Australia.
What if the vision of Claire and her baby being lifted aloft in a helicopter was NOT a good thing? What if the helicopter did not represent rescue at all?
I concur with this 100%. I don't think the helicopter, if there is one, will be taking them anywhere good. That was the first thing I was yelling at my TV set when Desmond said he saw Claire and Aaron getting into a helicopter.  |

Where do you think the helicopter is going?
Brazilian dudes see the island, report to Penny. Penny sends a team (including Naomi). Naomi flies over coordinates (SoLO) given to her by Brazilians. Crashes.
Why does it have to be anything more than that?

Maybe it's going back to the other island. Maybe just to the other side of this island. Lots of possibilities.
Your scenario might be right -- it doesn't have to be anything more than that. For some reason I'm just suspicious that it is.
Oh, that reminds me, too. TV Guide said something about the "Portuguese guys shown at the end of season 2." (I never realized they were Portuguese, but hey...) Then one of the languages Naomi speaks when she is first discovered is Portuguese, I think I read here. Is there anything to that, I wonder?

It had occured to me when I watching the episode that maybe Clare & Aaron gets on the helicopter, but it bad because the helicopter crashes with them onboard. So maybe Charlie screws up Desmond's vision and doesn't die.....and is thinking he screwed everything up for rescuing Claire & Aaron, but in fact by not dying he's saved Claire & Aaron......and himself.
