MIght need to give them a lil while to get it put up Jug. But I am VERY curious about them too. They seemed louder, a little clearer this time didn't they? Compared to other times??? Or am I old and can't hear sometimes?

Interesting thread. quick thoughts on the 'hostiles' and Richard in particular. He was wearing a gas mask and seemed genuine when taking it off to test the air. So... for now I am going to stick with the notion that he and the 'other' are not supernatural, invisible or anything like that.

With regard to Jacob though... I think the tie in of the whispers to him is a very reasonable one. My recollection is that the whispers seem to take the form of a dialog between two people and for some reason I have the impression a man and a women even. Maybe Jacob is the male voice and there is another supernatural being like Jacob that we haven't met yet. I also starting to think about Adam and Eve (in the cave) with the black and white stone.

In exploring the central theme this week Dan was kicking around Good vs Evil, mostly because we are starting to suspect that the island is out of balance given that it seems Jacob is being held hostage.

It's all still swirling around but I agree, there is a big clue in here. Now where are those whispers?

What if Jacob, and maybe others like Jacob are the whispers - this must be the truth, everything seems to point this way.

i cant believe that these whispers have never been confirmed or denied officially. although it is a good little secret to have for a rainy day if i were a producer. ive heard some of these before and i dont think there is much to them. and since most people arent going to be analyzing the audio that in depth itd be easy to fake. but then again there are lots of fans who would, so who knows

Believe the whispers are the muted voices of those in the listening/observation station. The "looking glass" station is a likely candidate.
The whispers seem to be telepathetic but is not more of an omniscience?
