It's not Rousseau. I don't know who she is... I'm guessing she's the one who Ben loved that the producers talked about and I'm also guessing she's dead which makes what he did to kill them all even more cold.

Dead? I do not believe this is a fact. We do not know the story of Annie beyond her childhood relationship with Ben. She was not shown during the Purge. In fact, I do recall noticing ANY women during the Purge (can someone confirm?). If Annie is dead, my theory is that Annie died previous to the Purge due to Ben getting her pregnant on the island. This would further support Ben's obsession with fertility issues on the Island in addition to the emotional tie-in to Ben's mothers' death while giving birth.

I was thinking it could also be Rousseau. For that to be true, we would have to dismiss her entire story of how she came to the island, pass it off as crazy talk. Also, she would have had to have conceived Alex on the island, possibly with Ben eh? As we know, there are complications with giving birth on the island, unless that problem didn't occur until after the purge. Who knows, maybe the others messed up what Dharma was working on and it had some negative side effects.
Why Rousseau COULD be Annie: 1) dannielle (long shot, I know...) 2) Both have a flavor for dolls 3) Both are crafty-- Annie making the dolls, Rosseau setting the traps 4) It seems like the only two people Ben cared about on the island were Horace and Annie. Ben only took the time to find Horace and close his eyes, which makes me think that Annie could have escaped. 5) Rousseau is still alive. Clearly, the Others clash with newcomers on the island. After Dharma, I think they would want to take every precaution against scientists (who weren't on their side) coming to the island to prevent another conflict. The Others have to know about Danielle, but yet they let her live. It seems like they got what they wanted from her- Alex. Either they don't consider her a threat, or Ben's orders are to keep her alive because of...well... he cares about her. 6) Seeing everyone you've come to know over the past several years slaughtered might make one have a bit of a mental breakdown. Maybe this is why Rousseau is fabricating how she came to the island.
Okay, that is all speculation mixed with a healthy dose of stretching. But now that we've been introduced to an invisible man just about anything is possible!

You're forgetting that little girl spoke normal American English while Rousseau has a European accent. I'd be disappointed if the little girl was Rousseau. I'm 99.9% convinced that it isn't. And I agree, saying that she's dead is speculation since her fate was never acknowledged and she was never shown grown up. She probably is dead though. I'm sure they'll get into what happened to her someday.

About that accent (I swear this is the last I'll post on this thread!) there were many people of different nationalities on the island. So she could have been learning all sorts of languages there. Maybe she thought she was French when she snapped.
Not saying I'm sold on Danielle=Annie but there are a few signs that it may be so.

Bens still carrys her hand carved doll aroubnd like its a sore story of where she ended up, and of a happier time in his life... we didnt see her body anywhere in the purge that i can tell so maybe she is still alive somewhere (hopefully off the island)... she played too major a part to just be an extra imho

I hope she either died in the purge or she could have graduated and went back to the states. I don't think at all that she is Rousseau. I didn't get that like now, when they come to the island that was it, no return. So she easlily could have left the island.
Maybe she died on the island and Ben is trying to find a way to bring her back? Since she died on the island it may be possible?!

I forgot about the whole Ben getting caught in the net and then shot by Rousseau. Yeah. That doesn't sound like Annie...
