Maybe it's not Jacob Vanderfield, but did you check out his picture?  Jacob's image sort of looks like him.  Wondered if maybe he got caught up in an experiment on the island and something happened to him.  Maybe he was leading the "hostiles," and not really and "all powerful" being as Ben has led the Others to believe.

That was the image I found off of lostpedia.  I will neither confirm nor deny who Jacob really is as [spoiler]I hear Jacob hasn't been cast yet[/spoiler]

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind THAT Jacob having a bit of screen time.

Even though [spoiler]Jacob hasn't been cast yet[/spoiler] I'm sure TBTB know exactly who and what he is.
