if you REALLY believed that you would NOT be posting it in a banner. Jacob is much scarier than that.

Nah.
Only during my last class of the day. They are a bunch of hooligans.

Only during my last class of the day. They are a bunch of hooligans. This has nothing to do with Jacob... But you just reminded me of my first year of teaching... I had just watched a training film (not narrated by Marvin Candle) of a teacher who had zero control over her class. There were kids walking around, throwing things, swearing, hitting on each other. I thought as I watched it, "What a screw-up!" Then I had to teach 6th hour regular sophomore English. And I was in the film. And I was the teacher. It was a Lost moment. Of course, after that I got my mo-jo on and knocked 'em into shape. So, I'll think of your hooligans. Use your Jedi mind powers! How many more days of school?

you just described my algebra I class in high school. poor poor mr allen. his first year teaching, and his last. he was committed about 3/4 of the way in. i had nothing to do with it, it was all the mean boys in my class.

Over-the-cuckoo's-nest committed? Maybe this thread isn't off topic! Maybe Mr. Allen the Algebra teacher is Jacob. "Helllppp meee!" I'm a teacher. It's summer vacation. I'm sitting in a broken down shack. Don't shine a flashlight in my eyes or I'll go postal!!!! Don't talk to me. Don't quote me. Don't make me do any paperwork. Leave me alone. I've got it. Jacob goes back to work every September!! He'll be back!! (I amused myself far too much writing this one. .)

(I amused myself far too much writing this one. .) yep, over the cuckoo's nest committed. he should have been behind a desk instead of in front of a class. THAT's why i don't want to teach! give me numbers every day just don't make me 'splain them to anyone!
back on topic................. sort of..............
i'm starting to think Jacob is just Jacob. he's someone who has always been on the island, yet is now being held captive by ben for whatever reason. Maybe ben has done something to p.o. jacob and since he doesn't want to deal with the wrath of jacob he keeps him contained.

Just going over the Hanso Foundation site, or what it used to be.....is it possible that it is Jacob Vanderfield who leads the Board of Directors?
Don't even know if anyone reads these messages boards this far back........

I'm not sure about that Dakan. I hate how they reuse some of the names, like I thought Tom was Thomas Mittlewerk for a while. Either the writers don't give a crap about having two people in the Lost world with the same names (out of all the other possibilities!) or... it DOES mean something!

I think it's a combination of running out of common names and wanting to keep us guessing. There are at least 4 Toms I think, if you count Mittlewerk. Tom of the Others Tom Brennan, Kate's childhood sweetheart Tommy, Claire's loser boy friend.
