What if Jin/Sun's Dr lied.......?
« on: May 03, 2007, 02:46:12 PM »
It seems to be taken for granted that Sun's Dr was telling them the truth about Jin's potency. What if he wasn't?
It is plausible, knowing how powerful Mr Paik is.
Maybe Mr Paik "reached out" to the good Dr. to drive Sun from Jin.
I don't remember the Dr showing any actual results to them.
This also would make Jin question himself.
Now I need help with it's relevance to Juliet's work.
And how Jin's fertility would change things.

It wouldn't.  That would be pointless lie.  It's not like they stopped having sex because he was infertile.  They probably went to a doctor specifically because they knew something was wrong when she wouldn't get pregnant.  Why would Mr. Paik want to drive Sun from Jin when it seems like he's done nothing but drive them together?

I agree w/ Maxor. It's pointless.

yeah, I think this one needs to be chalked up to the magic of TV.  They needed to set up the doctor telling them he's infertile in order to set up that Jin is now fertile, it's a pertinant part of the story line that should be trusted.

The flashbacks have never lied to us.

I agree with Juggy. The only "lies" we have had have been shown to be attributed to craziness (Locke's mother was at a mental hospital and she said he was immaculately conceived, then we found his father in the same episode) or have been resolved in the same episode. No Lies yet, nor ever, I think.
