Um...friends & families would be looking for them?

I know that..but most of them didn't really have anyone
Most of them were trying to get away from "friends and family"
But yeah they would be told they are dead and end of story

Hm.  It seems like everyone on the island has weak or no ties to anyone on the outside.  People who wouldn't be missed?  If you cater to the "they are all brought there for a reason" theory...

Thank You!  Yeah that was my thought but after thinking about it a little more...maybe Sun and Jin would be missed by her father... I can't really think of anyone else..but I'm sure I'm missing someone

Sorry, guys.  I'm not @ all on board with the idea that the Losties wouldn't be missed or no one would care enough to search for them.  Off the top of my head....

Jack- mom, best friend, Sarah (yes- they're divorced, but wouldn't most people care if their Ex was in a plane crash?)

Hurley- Mom

Charlie- Liam

Claire- Aunt Lindsey

Michael/ Walt- Michael's mom

Boone/ Shannon- Boone's mom

AnaLucia- Mom

I agree with Jessi. Most people have family, although SOME (Locke, Sawyer) don't have anyone.

Plus, keep in mind we have only seen 50-60 or so out of 250.

Still not sure I get the 'found at the bottom of a 4 mile trench' thing.  The chances of anyone looking that deep are slim and none.

I understand where you are coming from but if you were told there were no survivors and no way to retreive the bodies - might you just accept it (allbeit missing and greiving for them) and move on?  Or maybe it's just taking a long time - they have only been missing for 3 months.

the fact that the story goes with the plane being at the bottom of the 4 mile trench and had to use remote camera's to view them, says it all

THE PLANE WAS NOT RETRIEVABLE!!

greive on, but i dont care what anyone says, no one is going to get the plane, even if they had family and friends looking for them

end of story, perfect cover up

(lets forget the titanic people and that wasnt even a coverup)

I agree with you, & think that whether or not they had family friends looking for them, is irrelevant.

They stopped looking for their loved ones once the plane was found. It ended the mystery for the families. 4 miles down also allows for it to be a different plane and eliminates the search for id numbers etc.

Perhaps, but only in another timeline.  I totally disagree that it's a coverup.  It is them in that plane, and they are dead, but in a serperate thread of time.

ARGH

It is a cover up. There is only ONE timeline at this point.Stop thinking that desmond's timeline changed everything so drastically because it didn't! There is no other explanation at this point than this was a cover up.

JB- sorry, but until the producers come right out & say in a podcast that it was a cover-up & there is only ONE timeline, everyone is entitled to their speculations.  While I'm definitely leaning more toward the conspiracy/ cover-up theory, I really can see it both ways @ this point.

I can't. If there are a thousand different timelines in this show, it's over.
