I've espoused every theory on the subject, so I must have been correct somewhere. Now that we know who the father is, let's focus upon Kate's DOC.
One question, do you think the writers didn't go with "Who's your daddy?" because DOC is also meant to apply to the Losties themselves?

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of fight in the dog. Dwight Eisenhower
Maybe we should have a weekly quote thread. I have another one....
Where there is the duty to act, and the ability to act, the failure to act is an abuse of power. Guess who said that one.

What about Jin's daddy...
His fisherman father isn't even sure whether Jin belongs to him or not. His mother slept around a bit, maybe even with PAIK oh my god. Paik is Jin's father and Sun's father also. (Star Wars again!) Mother seems to know a lot about Sun's family--- cause of doing her dad! Is it getting a little Oldboy in here?

I'm thinking Paik put her up to it. He has the resources to figure out that Jin's parents aren't really dead, and what a perfect way to make sure Jin and Sun remain under his thumb.

Man if I lived on that island, I could have put myself through med school just by donating once a week to the local bank. (Instead, I had to work much more often). But, I am proud to say that I am now master of my own domain.

A little Oldboy and Shannon/Boone-ish. That would be a good twist. Jin would probably kill himself.

I'm really digging Dirty Maggie Mae's hypothesis that Mr. Paik engineered the whole thing in order to control his daughter. Brilliant and, if not already on the books, should be considered in the next writer's meeting.
