What is the range of helicopters? Unless they have a long range, maybe the island isn't as isolated as we think. And did something on the island cause it to crash? Maybe it just ran out of gas.

Can't be any longer a range than that of a beechcraft...

I guess nothing from the outside can make it to the island in one piece.

there are so many types and sizes of helicopters with different types of ranges, its kinda senseless to speculate on something we never saw... I guess nothing from the outside can make it to the island in one piece.

Must be that giant dome of energy I keep talking about. Puts aircraft through too much stress, Thats why you need to go underwater to get around it.

Helicopters normally do not have a very long range, however they can be fitted with mid-air refueling systems. Many military rotorcraft have this ability now.

except a sub? maybe they have a larger version of the sonic fence surrounding the island and the only way in is several hundred feet "under" it... only problem with that theory is how did the homing pidgeons get in and out??? it also could be why the last part of the trip to the island is an "intense" ride??

That was an interior "sonic" fence, not the same thing as an exterior dome of psychic energy ment to hide the island and take down all vehicles passing through it.

since noone knows whats around the island my theory was is there a "similar" fence surrounding the island which doesnt allow anything in.... hence the helicopter hit it and sent it crashing.... didnt know a dome of psychic energy was ever acknowledged as anything more than another wild guess like mine and everyone elses!!

We never saw a helicopter, only heard a sound and saw a splash.
