The sub can fly?

Every time I've been in an airport there are just planes.  Have I missed the terminal to get on a sub?  The sub probably can't fly, as always its Lost so who knows, but it showed her at herarat then she was on a sub.

Which would suggest it wasn't even an airport or at least a very small one.
